Statement on Federal Infrastructure Funding to New York City Being Frozen
Published on Oct 1, 2025
Our statement from New York Building Congress President & CEO Carlo A. Scissura, Esq. on the freeze placed on federal infrastructure funding to New York City:
“As an organization, the New York Building Congress is committed first and foremost to building the infrastructure that sustains and strengthens our communities. Our focus remains on ensuring that critical projects move forward without delay. To keep these projects on time and on budget, it is essential that federal funds are released as soon as possible. Infrastructure investment is not just bipartisan, it’s universal: putting people to work, driving long-term economic growth, and improving the quality of life for all New Yorkers. We will continue to collaborate with the U.S. Department of Transportation and all stakeholders to deliver safe, resilient, and world-class projects like the Hudson Tunnel and Second Avenue Subway extension, because our responsibility is clear: to build for the future.”
