Statement on Appointment of Celeste Ramirez as School Construction Authority President

“The Building Congress hails the appointment of Celeste A. Ramirez to be the first Latine New Yorker to lead the School Construction Authority – one of the most critical city agencies for the building and construction industry.

As the president and owner of a certified M/WBE and DBE small business, one she started from scratch, Ramirez knows how important timely and reliable payments from city agencies is to a firm’s ability not only to compete but to survive, and we know will work to ensure SCA operates under that lens. And she walks in the door one step ahead of most, with previous SCA experience assisting the agency’s efforts to modernize and renovate educational facilities.
