Statement from New York Building Congress on Construction Safety
Published on Jan 31, 2017 by
“The ongoing safety of our construction workforce and the general public is of paramount importance, and it requires collaboration and cooperation from all sectors of the design, construction and real estate industry, along with our partners in government. The New York Building Congress is grateful to the New York City Council for taking up these issues and looks forward to working with them. We believe the most prudent next step is for City Council Speaker Melissa Mark-Viverito to convene a diverse task force of key stakeholders who can thoroughly analyze the current package of proposed legislation and reach consensus on a more comprehensive approach to enhancing worksite safety,” said Carlo A. Scissura, President and CEO, New York Building Congress.
