The next meeting of the Council on Innovation & Best Practices will take place on Thursday, May 1. This will be an in-person meeting at the Building Congress’ office. Breakfast will be available at 8:30 a.m. and the meeting will begin at 8:45 a.m.
The guest speaker for the meeting will be Frank Ruchala, Director of Zoning at the New York City Department of City Planning who will provide an overview of the amendment to the Zoning Resolution in “City of Yes for Housing Opportunity” that will allow for additional housing in neighborhoods throughout the five boroughs. With one of the focuses of the Council being “Expediting Housing Production” the discussion and topic can be used as a starting point for the Council to suggest applications, technologies and best practices that can be utilized by the industry and City to support the new provisions.
